Great Reel for the price, February 6, 2009 By PL612 (Twin Cities, MN USA) - See all my reviews I bought this reel last fall for $100 (the 2500 model) and I have to say, it was money well-spent. The reel is really smooth on retrieves and feels like it should cost more than it does. I paired it up with a Shimano Crucial 6'8" Drop shot rod and use it for drop shotting, and some times for senkos and jigs too. I gotta say, they work great together. The only con I have is that this reel doesn't come with an extra spool. Which I would find helpful when switching from fishing drop shots to senkos/jigs and vice versa.

I purchased one of these reels years ago and it has worked flawlessly. I was lookinf for some new reels and found one of these availabe at amazon cheaper than most of the retailers in my area. I was pleased to find the reel brand new and arriving quickly. I hope it holds up as well as my first one.
