Zebco products have fallen in quality since the first original model 33; however, the Z03 is an excellent spincast reel. I have one and have used it three seasons so I bought this one for my wife.

I'ved used spincasts as well as baitcasters, spinning and even cane poles and this combo is the real deal. The rod and reel are well matched and the reel is nothing even close to your granddady's spincast. I decided to go back to a spincast system to make it a litte easier to stay out all day, since a recent stroke makes it hard to get in the boat, plus casting and reeling tends to wear me down. Since using this Zebco kit I may never use anything else. It's very sturdy, precise, solid. No tangles, excellent reel and drag. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to any fisherman at any level.
